A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Maybe two. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but note that comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.

She looks out the window
sits down crosses her legs
foot keeping time to some
inward rhythm jumps up
checks Facebook her right
leg bouncing like a twitching
muscle opens the fridge
grabs an apple which she
doesn’t want biting and
chewing as though it could
be taken away any minute
gets a bottle of window
cleaner wipes the smudges
turns on the music drums
her fingers on the table
and waits for the phone
call that might come.
She is all nervous noise
in a stone still house.
