A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.

(For all those who are getting snowed on ….again, this winter – 2-4 inches, here today (at least it is warm enough to snow!) please be safe if you are venturing forth on the roads. The first thing I did this morning was push/shovel snow for an hour this morning.)

I really like this. There’s a feeling of broken thoughts that works well.

Traditionally a renga is supposed to be written by at least two people – each stanza alternate or different voice. Though I write most (OK, all) of mine by myself. So I guess the broken thought part actually works this time 😉
Some old wive’s tale is that children need to eat a pound of dirt a year. And there may actually be something to that – the body learns how to defend itself. All the excessive cleaning just makes the body work harder when it encounters something new that it hasn’t had to deal with before. And that maybe why there has be such an uptick in children’s allergies. They aren’t allowed to get down and ‘dirty’.

FIVE THOSE-FUTURE-FOLKS POEMS
1
Teens with antennae
Sprouting from their heads
Wear euphoric faces.
2
What will they complain about
In the next three hundred years?
Anarchy?
3
Those folks out there
in the Big Tomorrow
have no clue of who we were.
4
It will be a new world
But still deep in greed,
Folks killing for power.
5
We are the future of the gone-by,
The acclaimed hope of the past.
Sorry.

Folkways are pathways
through the forests of
people, trails among those whom
we meander our future, crossing
and crissing, gladed and wild.

Love that “crossing and crissing,” especially.
