Twiglet #70

A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.

  1. FIVE FAR-BETTER POEMS

    1
Life is far better if you fill your basket
With hand-out kindness for the basketless.

    2
It’s a better walk when we can dance it
    than curse the stones.

    3
Sometimes it’s better to wait patiently,
and not anger over late rewards.

    4
What is far better for me
is not necessarily far better for you.

    5
In my youth, I thought all that I did
    was excellently executed,
    then Papa killed that notion
and showed me a better way.

  2. For April PAD as well….

Need to get to Home Depot
    and pick up some tools:

    Love screwdrivers
    heartache wrenches,
    heartstring pullers or such

    My ticker skips a beat
    then stops every damn time
I see you step from the shower

I had a 20 pack of love poems
by Neruda, “Starts the coldest heart!”,
    but lost the instructions

    Any ideas for something better
than this four-valve gizmo of mine?

    1. Sarah – that’s *amazing*. Smoking great. (pardon my American over-the-top-ness, but potent imagery and language throughout).
