A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.
The mail’s dreams of deliverance
are interrupted by the postman
ringing twice, thrice,
and then pebbles thrown by a lover
at the windows
of the envelopes
Windows of the envelopes… most of mine are bills or addressed to ‘Occupant’.
I think in some European countries the postman does ring the bell to announce mail has arrived.
At my rural street mail box the latest is a bar code that our carrier/driver has to zap to keep track of where ‘they’ve’ been at what time on their route. Not all of the boxes have that bar code.
I usually get my mail late… only when a sub comes an opposite way have I ever gotten my mail before 10am!

Thank you (she blushes) – neighbors care for neighbors is how it should be. He should be home at least by the end of the week, maybe tonight.

Window envelopes and bills — yes, LOL! I thought of that, but hoped I could sort of slide it by!

You really should work this one up a bit and submit it for a wider audience. Tres fun.
