A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.
Without hopes or daydreams, casually,
as if it were by accident he files
another slip of text in his wallet,
another pocket prophecy secretly
believed. Or why would he be so discrete?
In elementary school we played that with movies. Bell, Book, and Candle—between the sheets. Auntie Mame—between the sheets. The Blob—between the sheets.
Same here. Just returned home from 2-weeks in Maryland with sons and daughters, 3 grandchildren, one of them 9-months old who discovered crawling during our visit. What fun!

I really like that “pocket prophecy”. A slip of text is less messy than wet tea leaves.

We have some friends who end all fortunes with… “…in bed”
Makes the catch just a tad more fun?

I love you, not
I love you knot,
tongue tied, a pink
petal taut, words plucked
said unsaid, say unsay,
shed, unshed, loosened and
falling for you now
