A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.
One week many years ago I was thankful to have a working fireplace – it was so cold the electric heat could not keep up… I like moderation in weather, not too hot or not too cold.

I don’t mind a bit of mandatory candlelight so long as I can stay warm. No heat – well, that’s a different kettle of fish.

Caught in the act –
the household clocks
taking their time,
thieves
hoarding jeweled movement
of death
and entropy.
Busted,
hand over hand
covering their nethers,
like Adam and Eve
clocking out from Eden
at half six
seeking the exits.
Cardiac arrest,
we’re facing
Hard Time.
Red handed
from open heart
recidivism
of the hour.

I always wonder how things like clocks have faces and hands…
That second stanza – brilliant. All of it quite entertaining.
