Twiglet #137

A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.

  1. I saw the profile of Jesus
    in dirt on my shovel
after I cut in the hydrangea
    for you.

He didn’t look the worse for wear
    for that business on Golgotha,
    or for all the earth
    this spade has turned.

    Sermon on the rake
    and harrow –
    the ragweed shall inherit
    the earth.

    What miracle
    my cloddishness,
    the triune muck
    I’ve made of things.

    1. Qbit,
You’ve got me looking up words again (a good thing) –
I think though that gardening is something we are supposed to be doing?
      After all ‘compost happens’.
Kudzu is getting pretty close to inheriting the south…

        1. I saw a t-shirt with grass on top of the earth line and well decomposition going on with the phrase underneath a few years back… 😉
