Twiglet #139

A twiglet is a short phrase. Its aim is to “prompt” thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected.

  1. Brown earth sprinkled
    With salt-licks and pepper trees,

crust of soil we’re cutting the pie,
    slicing wide open our eyes

    bigger than our stomach,
    farm to tabla rasa,

I taste, I taste, the skin of the world,
the salt-sweet sweat of your neck.

  2. Apologies to everyone. I’ve been away all week, and had little opportunity to read your work. I’ll resume normal attentiveness this week. 🙂
