  1. after the thumber-storm –
rain like a limp handshake –
    we were wet and
    thinking with our fingerprints
    all handstands and headstands hitchhiking
by the side of the road there in the desert,
our digitized counting out ten dollars,
not enough fingers and toes for a bus
as we glad-handed our way to Vegas
one truck stop to the next,
    hand-over-hand on the monkey bars
    of Kerouac and Cassidy,
    thumbing our noses,
    thumping our chests.

    1. Hitching… not something easily done these days.

      ‘after the thumber-storm –
rain like a limp handshake –’ Of course I misread it the first time. A unique adventure, one truck stop at a time. Cool.
