    Found itself in the wrong place
    It should have been on the corner
    of Verde and Main
    instead of Russell and Main.
    My left shoe trailed along
    but just a step behind
    and tapped a stuttered
    morse code on concrete
    till the right shoe gathered
    herself and walked
    to the next block…
    where you were waiting
    with a smile
    and a bouquet of daisies.
    Off on the wrong foot
    but everything turned
    out right.

    2. Always a joy to read that everything turned out right 😀

      Reminds me of a time I tried to ‘dress up’ for a date. And my ‘date’ didn’t recognize me because I wasn’t what he expected. It was a shorter friendship, but that’s how things go, especially when we are younger.
