A twiglet’s aim is to “prompt” a thought. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected.

First stanza: No, and yes, and no. How shameful of me. I must set that right, although my brain has trouble memorising things nowadays. Do you know the third?

Ode to Prozac
An abyss on either side
falling into despair
tumbling into giddy
tears for no reason
anger on a whim…
Walking on a balance beam
with no vertigo to pull
one way or the other
an anodyne of peace
or a cop out
I don’t care

I would be willing to sing all sorts of odes to anything that might help a soul feel like it’s no longer “breathing through mud”. So yay, Prozac!

Thanks Magaly. It helps so much. So I sing its praise.

I am so glad, Debi. I have a dear friend whose breast cancer treatment left her with severe depression. The phrase “breathing through mud” was one of her ways of explaining to me what she felt like. Medication helps her a great deal. It’s a wonder to see.

I learned that banana method after watching a nature show on telly. It worked a treat!
