Twiglet #118

A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.

    Mama said.
Mama said, again. Mama said more.
    I said.
    Mama said.
    I said.
    Mama said more, loudly.
    I said.
    Mama said more loudly: Don’t
    talk back to me
    I said: But
    Mama said, said, said.

    But you didn’t understand,
    I said.
    And things accelerated from there.

      1. I genuinely thought that if I could make her understand me it would be like Oh, that’s what you meant, why didn’t you say that in the first place. I was still trying for clarification whil she was stripping leaves off the switch.

            1. My dad always told me, never explain anything that is obvious. He hated that Mum thought my sister and I were baseballs. God, they’d argue about that.
