    in ever diminishing smudges
    until at last there is nothing
    but glistening sparkle of the dew
    that swiftly disappears, too.
    Day has come and settled in,
    like a hound before the hearth,
    too lazy in the heat and shine
    to bestir herself in the benign
    summer breezes.

    5. Debi, you have described the entrance of summer…. lazy and hot, except when it rains.
      I got my first three cherry tomatoes from my raised garden yesterday!
